Meet Sonya Blaquiere

My greatest passion is to re-connect people with those they love and the things they enjoy doing through better hearing.  I know that no single approach is right for everyone and I pride myself in listening to each individual and then guiding them along their path to better hearing by educating you about hearing loss and selecting the right hearing instrument.

In the Fall of 2009, the opportunity arose for me to attend the prestigious Dr. Rulon Center of Hearing Sciences in Spokane Falls, Washington, where only 24 students are admitted each year.  There I received in depth training in performing tympanometry, otoacoustic emission testing, and complete audiometric evaluations, as well as, the functional uses of different types of earmolds, shells and assistive listening devices.  After graduating with honors and awards, I received a degree in Hearing Instruments Sciences. Following graduation I did a two year internship in Southern Utah, at Tru Tone Hearing Centers, where I learned and grew in the field of Audiology.  I became board certified in 2012 and maintain licenses in both the state of Utah and Nevada.  With my eye on helping to give my patients the highest level of attention, I continually take educational classes to expand my knowledge.

You aren’t given a dream you can’t fulfill. In 2016 I decided that I could touch more people’s lives while owning my own practice.  After searching for some time, I found just the right fit and Helping U Hear (HUH) was born.  I remind myself of a quote Maya Angelou has said many times, “People won’t remember what you said or did, they will remember how they made you feel.”  I strive everyday to have empathy and patience and to express how hearing instruments can change lives, as well as how they give them back the lifestyle and connection they have been missing.  My patients are my family and hearing is my passion!  At the end of the day, I ask myself, where could I have been more ?  Everyone, including you, has always done the best they could with what they know at the time.  Now you’re about to know more.  Celebrate your new awareness; let me help you live your life to the fullest, hearing, once again, the sounds of life and love.
